How can I put in a air conditioner in a 4 foot high by 2 foot window?

In my house we do not have central air, and the only widows I have are a large double set of sliding windows. The problem is that the windows are so tall that if I put a A/C in it, it would leave like 3 feet open to outside. Is there any cheap type of portable A/C that I should use? Or what? Keep in mind that I am only looking to cool one room.

IN THE WINDOW..WHILE SOMEONE HOLDS IT..MEASURE THE OPENING THAT NEEDS TO BE FILLED..DRAW A DIAGRAM IF YOU WANT SO YOU CAN WRITE THE SIZE NEXT TO EACH LENGTH AND WIDTH THAT U MEASURE. MAKE SURE YOU DONT CUT IT TOO SMALL..U NEED THE PLYWOOD TO STAY SNUG INSIDE..THEN PUT A FEW BLOCKS UNDER THE AIR CONDITIONER SO IT DON'T TIP FORWARD OR BACKWARDS. THIS IS A VERY EASY THING TO DO .
