WHERE: Portable air conditioner without hoses/venting/etc?

I want a portable A/C unit for my Dorm, but they don't allow external exhaust (unless it drips to a controlled bucket or whatever). I don't know much in the area of A/C units, so I was wondering if I could get some help here.

One of the companys make a portable unit with a twin duct (one in/one out). It comes with a duct holder for a double hung window. The window holds it in place. It has an evaporator dish so there is no condensation to get rid of. Sorry I don't know the name of the manufacturer.

How can I put in a air conditioner in a 4 foot high by 2 foot window?

In my house we do not have central air, and the only widows I have are a large double set of sliding windows. The problem is that the windows are so tall that if I put a A/C in it, it would leave like 3 feet open to outside. Is there any cheap type of portable A/C that I should use? Or what? ive got a 9000btu one but its not good enuff its been 103 here all week and it hardly the begining of summer and it will only drop my room like 10degrees and i gotta keep it under 85 to keep my hdtv xbox and computers happy. Ive got a 120v 20amp gfci outlet off of a 20amp afci breaker so i can go up to 20amps .... dose any one make a 20amp 120v portable air conditioner .... i would get a window unit but the home owners association says no ac's out windows on front of house

All three are ridiculously priced but are 15,000 BTU's, and I can vouch for the edgestar first hand working very well.

Brookstone also has a 14000 BTU version but also just as horribly priced as the others.

Yes but they still need a hole to the outside. They are free-standing devices but there's a big hose which vents to outside. I have often wondered if I could use one to vent up my fireplace chimney. Walmart has them and many other places.

Its brand new too and it keeps freezing up. I checked the filter and its clean, I also ran the fan and the ice melted but I am afraid if I turn it on cool again that it will freeze up. So would anyone know what the problem might be? Its a everstar portable air conditioner.

Be sure the coils are clean, the car radiator looking thing on the outside of the unit. Dirty coils typically cause freeze-up.
